Our lovely Shepherd’s Hut has featured on the front cover of Period Living…

The newly constructed living accommodation has been built onto an original base with the hut being fully insulated, yet retaining the original feel of days gone by. The Shepherds’ Hut measures 14′ x 6′ 6″ externally. Shepherds’ Huts were originally used as a mobile living accommodation at lambing time, used by the shepherd and his dog to shelter, somewhere to eat and sleep, warm up and avoid the elements, helping to watch over their flock and bring newly born lambs into the world through the busy lambing season.

Inside the hut, which is clad with painted match boarding you will find underfloor heating for year round use, oak flooring, a small wood burning stove, a full size double bed with storage area beneath, complete with cosy mattress and plump pillows and of course traditional ticking stripe bedding, a fold down table and chairs, electric sockets and lighting. The Shepherds Hut which sleeps 2 is priced at £85 per night, reducing to £75 per night for bookings of 4 nights or more (please note that the Hut can only be booked in conjunction with The Old Granary barn to accommodate 8). Please note the Shepherds Hut is not graded by Quality in Tourism but has been finished to the same high standard as The Old Granary barn.
