Thank you for taking the time to read the small print here, we can’t wait to welcome you here at one of our retreats, but there are some important things you need to know first. By making a booking with us, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
In these terms and conditions, the following definitions are used:
We/Us/Our – The Old Granary and The Cabin
You/Guest – The names person in the booking confirmation as well as all the other members of the booking party listed on the booking confirmation.
Properties – means The Old Granary and The Cabin.
The Old Granary and The Cabin handle bookings from persons over 21 years of age. We reserve the right, without giving reasons to refuse a booking. When you submit a booking through our online reservation system you will receive an automated booking summary email. Please check the email for any errors. The automated email does not form a contract between you and The Old Granary or The Cabin.
When making a booking through our website booking page, your contract with us begins once your booking is confirmed either by:
Bookings can be paid by bank transfer. If you prefer to pay by credit/debit card then you have the option to book your stay with us on Airbnb.
A deposit payment of 33% is required at the time of booking for stays over 6 weeks away, with the balance becoming due 6 weeks before arrival. For bookings less than 6 weeks away, the payment will need to be made in full.
We understand that sometimes things don’t go quite to plan, if you do need to cancel your stay, below are our cancellation terms:
If cancelled more than 4 weeks prior to your stay – you will receive a full credit note or refund for the amount you have paid.
If cancelled less than 4 weeks prior 100% of your deposit will be retained, unless we are able to resell your dates, in which case we can offer you a full credit note or refund.
We cannot accept responsibility or pay any compensation where the provision of the holiday is prevented or affected by reason of circumstances that amount to “force majeure.” These include any event which we could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. Such circumstances include the destruction or damage of the property through fire, flood, explosion, storm or other weather damage, break-in, criminal damage, riots or civil strife, industrial action, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, adverse weather conditions, war or threat of war, actual or threatened terrorist activity, epidemic, pandemic and all similar situations beyond our control.
We strongly advise guests to take out holiday cancellation insurance in advance of their trip.
The breakage deposit is required at the time of either: payment in full if less than 6 weeks away or at the time of payment of the final balance.
The Old Granary:
A breakage deposit of £250 will be required to be paid by you to cover possible damage to the properties, damage or loss of contents, damage or loss to keys, excessive or incorrect use of facilities (including, but not limited to, internet and other amenities provided).
The Cabin:
A breakage deposit of £125 will be required to be paid by you to cover possible damage to the properties, damage or loss of contents, damage or loss to keys, excessive or incorrect use of facilities (including, but not limited to, internet and other amenities provided).
All stays are inspected for damage after Guests leave and the cost for replacement or repair to any such finding will be subtracted from this deposit.
If, on inspection, after Guests leave, their accommodation is found to be in the same condition as it was on their arrival, the Damage Deposit will be returned in full.
Guests’ deposits will be returned from 5 – 7 days after departure, following clearing, cleaning and processing of their accommodation by us.
The Old Granary and The Cabin reserves the right to seek additional compensation if damages, breakages or cleaning is deemed over the breakage deposit amount of the respective property.
The Old Granary:
Check-in is from 5pm – 11pm on the first day of the Guest’s booking.
Check-out time is by 9.30am on the final day of the Guest’s booking.
The Cabin:
Check-in is from 4pm – 11pm on the first day of the Guest’s booking.
Check-out is by 10am on the final day of the Guest’s booking.
The number of persons occupying the properties must not exceed the maximum number stated on the booking. If we find that more people than agreed are using the properties, this will be considered a breach of contract and you and your party will be asked to leave immediately without any refund.
Strictly no additional overnight/day Guests are allowed due to safety and insurance conditions of the Owner at either Accommodation.
During their stay, Guest’s will not commit any act which breaks the law. This includes not using the accommodation for any illegal purpose.
During their stay it is the Guest’s responsibility to close windows and lock their accommodation when they are not on site.
We are not responsible for any damage to, the safety of or the loss of the Guest’s personal property while it is on site.
You are responsible for the health and safety of everyone using your accommodation regardless of whether it is used exclusively by yourself and/or your family and friend.
We are not responsible for any damage, illness or injury caused by use of the accommodation and any amenities; such use is at the Guest’s own risk.
You are responsible for the property and are expected to take all reasonable care of its furniture, pictures, fittings and effects in or on the property.
You must leave them in the same state of repair, and in a reasonable clean and tidy condition at the end of the rental period.
You must not use the properties for any dangerous, offensive, noxious, noisy, immoral activities or carry on there any act that my be a nuisance or annoyance to the owner or other neighbouring properties.
Smoking, vaping and candles are not allowed in any of the properties. If smoking is detected in the building, then a charge for cleaning will be levied. Any damages incurred from smoking, vaping or use of candles will have to be paid for in full within seven days of notification. We recommend that you have insurance in place to cover this.
Sun cream, fake tan, make-up and hair dye can all cause permanent damage to bedding, bed linens, towels and other household textiles. We ask our Guests to take care when using these products. We recommend that Guests planning to use such products during their stay bring their own spare bed linen and towels to prevent damage to items within the properties. If damage and/or staining does occur and the items cannot be cleaned, the cost to replace these items will be deducted from the Guest’s Damage Deposit.
If the accommodation is not left in an acceptable condition, which would incur extra cleaning above and beyond the level which is expected, the additional cleaning cost will be deducted from the Damage Deposit.
If on the Guest’s departure we are not satisfied with the condition in which their accommodation has been left, we may refuse to take any repeat bookings from that Guest.
During your stay you may use the accommodation for holiday and recreational purposes only. No business may be operated from the site, nor may content be created for the use of business purposes.
Commercial photography and filming is not permitted anywhere on the site without prior consent from the Owner.
The Guests and their party shall not do anything, act or behave in a way, whether that be prior, during or after their stay which would bring the Owner’s business into disrepute.
Guests must keep to the site rules listed here, behaving in a considerate, respectful and safe manner to all people, animals and wildlife onsite:
No high noise levels after 9.00pm. All noise must stop by 11.00pm.
Amplified music is not permitted.
If both The Old Granary and The Cabin are being rented together, you must not move anything between the two properties.
Please leave gates as you find them. If a gate is found closed upon use, please close the gate again behind you.
Keep to public footpaths and respect the privacy of each accommodation.
We provide a variety of bins at each accommodation and ask that you read the instructions in our Guest folders for what items are to be placed where.
You are legally bound to reimburse us for replacement, repair or extra cleaning costs on demand. If damage occurs to the Property as a result of the actions of Guests during the stay, where the extent of that damage is so severe that the Owner must (in their sole opinion) cancel and/or refund subsequent bookings, the Owner may bring a claim against you for any loss arising as a result, including the cost of refunding other guests affected by cancelled Bookings and any additional administrative fees incurred in respect of the same.
Internet access is provided for your use in all properties. You agree to reasonable and lawful usage of this service. Internet use is not for business purposes, it is for recreational use only
We shall be allowed the right of entry to the property at all reasonable times for purposes of inspection or to carry out any necessary repairs or maintenance.
Neither is allowed without our express written permission. We have livestock on site and our neighbours have livestock on theirs. Permission would not be unreasonably withheld.
The Old Granary: 2 dogs (over 1 year old)
The Cabin: 1 small dog (over 1 year old)
Dogs are charged at £10 per dog, per night in all properties.
Smoking
All properties are non-smoking. Smoking is allowed only in open-air areas. Cigarette butts must be disposed of appropriately.
