Cannot fault this place! So beautiful. It was just perfect. We wanted to get away from everything and we did. We spent a wet week there in June 2019 and it was amazing. The cottage is stunning and so comfortable and so luxurious – the hot tub was the icing on an already perfect cake! And even better in the rain. The gardens are beautiful too and that view! Owners were really lovely and made us feel so welcome. We can’t wait to go back.”

“Absolutely Amazing Christmas at The Old Granary ~ Christmas 2021

Amanda and Martin were so lovely, friendly and happy to welcome us to The Old Granary when we arrived. They responded so quickly when we had can opener gate! But it was just everything…the granary was amazing, so tastefully decorated, comfortable and warm with lots of home comforts, especially having Christmas decorations all out! The hamper was huge and so thoughtful, the log burner was fantastic, the hot tub was a revelation, the location was great, despite the fog!!! But the very best thing was the company but that was just special (we went as a big family to celebrate my parent’s 40th wedding anniversary)! We did some lovely walks nearby in Matlock/Tansley that take in the beautiful scenery and also visited two lovely National Trust places – Kedleston Hall and Hardwick. Both had beautiful grounds and lovely walks! It was such a wonderful place to stay and have an extra special Christmas. Would definitely recommend staying here 🙂 Thank you again Amanda and Martin.”

The hot tub is a total winner- big enough for all of us, easy to use and two steps from the front door – handy in cold January! We self catered and found all we needed in the kitchen. From the very start Martin welcomed us and gave us a thorough walk through of the cabin and all its amenities. Everything was perfect, serene and so fulfilling. Coming from the busy city of London and being able to wake up to the view was worth the journey. Amanda and Martin have outdone themselves with all the details in the cabin, from making it a luxurious experience but also easy to navigate with all the essentials, toiletries, bedside lights and comfortable bed. Needless to say, the outdoor bathtub is a big plus, even though it was 0 degrees outside we were able to have a relaxing soak after dawn and enjoying the silence of the fields. We also received a welcome hamper and a bottle of Prosecco which meant that we didn’t need to go out and buy anything for breakfast. We will be definitely be coming back and recommending The Old Granary and Cabin to everyone.”

“From the very start we were warmly welcomed by Amanda (host). The place was spotless on arrival and we were greeted to an incredible Victoria sponge cake made by Amanda as well as fresh hen eggs, sourdough bread and a few other local products. The place was lovely with a cosy feel. It has three bathrooms and an additional toilet downstairs (so four toilets in total) which is fantastic. Private hot tub was brilliant overlooking the most incredible view. You can’t even get this view from certain tourist viewpoints! There is parking comfortably for up to six cars. I cannot recommend this place enough and we look forward to revisiting again in the future.”

It felt like we were in a fairytale fantasy. The hot tub was very luxurious with the breathtaking view to look at and the beds were very comfy. We loved the welcoming cake – it was very yummy, thank you. We had everything we needed and there were lots of enjoyable walks nearby. The chickens were very cute. Definitely recommend it.”

“This is a great luxury cottage with fantastic views of the countryside. The hot tub is a real selling point and we used it every evening despite the weather! The hosts made us very welcome and there is everything you need in the cottage for your stay, including the great welcome pack of delicious cake, wine, chocolates, bread, milk, eggs and more… We had some special family time together and will definitely return, next time for a week as there is so much to do in the surrounding area.”
